Privacy Policy
The short version
You can use the Analyst Prep Kit with no account — your learning progress is saved only in your own browser and never leaves your device. Signing in is optional: if you choose to create an account (with an email and password, or with Google), we store your email and sync your progress to our backend so it follows you across devices. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand general usage.
What we collect
Anonymous usage analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to see aggregate, anonymized information — pages visited, general location (country/region), and device type — so we can improve the kits. We do not use this to identify you personally.
Your progress (stored on your device). Lesson progress, settings, and any premium unlock are stored in your browser's local storage. If you don't sign in, this stays on your device — we never receive or store it — and clearing your browser data or switching devices removes it.
Account & sync data (only if you sign in). Creating an account is optional and only needed to sync your progress across devices. If you do, we store your email address (and, for Google sign-in, the basic profile Google provides) along with a synced copy of your learning progress and any premium entitlement. This is held in our backend, hosted by Supabase, and is used only to restore your progress and unlocks when you sign in on another device. The entire free kit works without an account.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to measure usage. You can block these with your browser settings or a browser extension such as the Google Analytics Opt-out add-on. The kits work fully without analytics cookies. Advertising cookies are covered separately under Advertising below.
Advertising
Where ads appear. We are trialling a single advertisement on the SQL guides only. It sits below the article, above the footer, and it is labelled. There is never more than one, it is never inside the text you are reading, and there is no sticky banner or pop-up. No other page on the site carries advertising.
Who serves it. Ads may be served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure those ads. We never receive, store, or have access to any of that data. You can review and switch off personalized ads at My Ad Center, which applies across every site you visit, not just this one.
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, a consent prompt appears before any personalized advertising cookie is set, and you can decline it. Declining does not restrict any part of the kits.
Every lesson, guide, drill and download works identically whether or not you allow ads, and whether or not you block them. Nothing here is behind an ad.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data, build personal profiles of you ourselves, or share data except with the analytics, advertising, authentication/sync, and payment providers named above strictly to operate the service.
Your choices
You can clear your local progress any time from within each kit's settings, opt out of analytics as described above, and — if you created an account — sign out on any device or email us to delete your account and the progress synced to it. You can also ask what (if anything) is associated with a purchase.
